Who We Are

Approach & Impact

Advocates champions people who face developmental, mental health, or other life challenges. We partner with individuals and families to shape creative solutions to even the greatest obstacles.

First, we listen. Then, together, we do what it takes to help people thrive.

Caring Partners

Our approach honors individuals’ and families’ needs, wants, and goals. First, we listen. Then we work with the people we serve as full partners—that’s part of our organizational promise. As a result, individuals and families facing serious challenges are empowered to achieve their goals and pursue their dreams.

Creative Solutions

We bring to our work determination and open minds. Our staff and leaders give their all to shaping creative solutions to even the most challenging obstacles. We champion the individuals and families we serve, and value the opportunity to work with them to find the right solution, no matter what it takes.

Better Lives

We provide a broad range of services for people facing life challenges such as addiction, aging, autism, brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and mental health challenges. At Advocates, thousands of individuals and families living in Massachusetts find the supports they need to lead healthy, productive, and rewarding lives.

Mission & Vision

We partner with individuals, families, and communities to shape creative solutions to even the greatest life challenges. First we listen. Then, together, we do what it takes to help people thrive.

We envision communities in which every person has a full life, decent and affordable housing, meaningful work, satisfying relationships, and good health. There will be economic, health, racial, and social justice, a place for all of us to thrive, and opportunities for everyone to make a contribution.
