Coffee Talk is an online talk show presented by Southborough Youth and Family Services and produced by Southborough Access Media. You can tune in on Tuesdays at 10am live on the Southborough Youth and Family Services Facebook Page

On last week's episode, Chief Kenneth Paulhus of the Southborough Police Department and Advocates Co-Response Program Supervisor Sheena Mahoney, LICSW spoke with members of Southborough Youth and Family Services about the Borough's Regional Co-Response Jail Diversion Program. The Borough's program is a collaboration between Westborough, Southborough, and Northborough Police Departments and Advocates. The three departments share a Co-Response Clinician who is embedded within all three departments and responds with officers to calls for service. The clinician can de-escalate crisis calls involving mental health and substance use on scene. Being on scene also allows for diversion from arrest when appropriate as well as from unnecessary emergency room visits by referring individuals to community-based treatment.
