Last month, Dr. Sarah Abbott, our Jail Diversion Program Director and Taylor Hayden, our Sudbury/Hudson co-response clinician, sat on a panel at the 14th Annual New England School Safety Conference presented by Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officers Association and the National Association of School Resource Officers.

Accompanying them on the panel were Framingham Police School Resource Officer Kathy McGrath and Sudbury Police School Resource Officer Kim Walch. Together, they discussed how co-response clinicians collaborate alongside school resource officers to keep juveniles out of the criminal justice system when appropriate and help divert them from unnecessary trips to the emergency department.

Thank you to M.J.P.O.A. (Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officer’s Association) for including Advocates Jail Diversion at this important event to increase school safety.
