Advocates

Last week, Advocates Adult Family Care (AFC) team held their first informational webinar and Q&A session, in response to social distancing. Hosted by Valerie Spain, Community Outreach Manager for AFC, and Beth Gutierrez, AFC Program Director, the webinar attracted more than 20 attendees. The hour-long session featured a presentation about AFC program benefits and eligibility requirements and allowed time for participants to ask questions.

Advocates AFC program provides a tax-free stipend, nurse and case manager visits, and other resources for caregivers caring for an aging parent or a son or daughter with a disability. Although the AFC service model has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the team continues to provide services through Telehealth and continues to recruit new caregivers and members.

A full recording of the webinar is available below. Click here to view the presentation slides.

If you are interested in attending future webinars, please contact Valerie Spain at VSpain@Advocates.org, to be added to our email list.
